MG Windsor EV Launches Exclusive Pro Variant in India

MG Motor India has expanded its Windsor EV lineup with the launch of the new Exclusive Pro variant, marking a significant upgrade in battery capacity and driving range for Indian EV buyers. Priced at ₹12.25 lakh (ex-showroom) under MG’s innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, the Exclusive Pro offers a compelling balance between affordability and extended range, making it one of the most attractive options in the country’s growing electric vehicle market.
The standout feature of the Exclusive Pro is its larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, which delivers a claimed driving range of 449 kilometers—a substantial increase compared to the 332 km range of the standard Windsor EV equipped with a 38 kWh battery. This extended range is particularly appealing to Indian customers who often face range anxiety due to limited charging infrastructure. The battery rental fee for the Exclusive Pro is set at ₹4.5 per kilometer, slightly higher than lower variants, but the trade-off is the significant jump in driving distance on a single charge.
In terms of pricing, the Exclusive Pro variant is positioned between the Essence and Essence Pro trims. Its ex-showroom price is ₹85,000 lower than the top-end Essence Pro model, making the larger battery more accessible to a broader audience. Buyers opting for outright ownership will find the Exclusive Pro costs ₹1.10 lakh more than the smaller battery Essence model, but the additional range and features justify the premium.
Feature-wise, the Exclusive Pro impresses with a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, and a high-quality nine-speaker Infinity sound system. The interior sports a sophisticated dual-tone Ivory White and Black theme, complementing its premium cabin feel. However, this variant does not include the fixed glass roof or advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) available in the Essence Pro trim, which could be a consideration for buyers prioritizing these features.
The introduction of the Exclusive Pro enhances the Windsor EV’s competitiveness against rival models such as the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 400 EV. By offering a larger battery at a more accessible price point, MG aims to attract customers looking for a long-range electric vehicle without the higher cost typically associated with bigger battery packs.
Bookings for the MG Windsor EV Exclusive Pro began immediately after its launch, with a token payment of ₹11,000. Deliveries are expected to commence from the first week of June 2025 across India.
With this new variant, MG Motor India reinforces its commitment to making electric mobility more practical and affordable for Indian consumers. The Windsor EV Exclusive Pro is well-positioned to capture the growing demand for reliable, tech-rich electric vehicles in the country.
