Latest Jaguar Electric Cars & Their Expected Launch Prices in India

Jaguar, a brand known for elegance, speed, and heritage, is stepping boldly into the electric era. With growing global demand for EVs and India’s market slowly warming up to premium electric vehicles, Jaguar is reimagining its future. While the I‑PACE introduced Indian audiences to electric luxury, the British automaker has much bigger plans ahead. Here's a complete look at what’s coming and how Jaguar plans to take on the Indian EV segment.

The Shift from I‑PACE to a Full EV Lineup

The Jaguar I‑PACE was the brand’s first foray into electric mobility. Launched in India around 2021, it was a bold, tech-packed SUV with over 400 hp, a 470 km range, and sleek styling. But that was just the beginning. Jaguar has officially announced that it will become a pure EV brand by 2025, discontinuing all petrol and diesel offerings.

With this transformation, the I‑PACE is being phased out globally, including in India. But this exit isn’t a goodbye — it’s the start of something more exciting, more luxurious, and fully electric.

Type 00 Concept: The Future Unveiled

Jaguar’s biggest teaser into its electric future is the stunning Type 00 Concept, recently showcased at the Miami Art Week and then revealed in India in June 2025. This sleek, futuristic four-door grand tourer will form the base for Jaguar's upcoming flagship EV, expected to launch globally in late 2025 and in India by early 2027.

The production model will sit on the brand-new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), promising superior range, high-speed charging, and a minimal, tech-rich interior. It’s built to rival the likes of the Porsche Taycan and the Tesla Model S — not just in performance but in pure design drama.

Jaguar claims this car will deliver over 770 km of range on a full charge and support ultra-fast charging that gives you 300+ km in just 15 minutes. Expect a starting price of around ₹1.4 to ₹1.6 crore in India, depending on import duties and final specs.

Jaguar E‑PACE EV: Premium SUV for the Mass Affluent

Alongside the ultra-luxury GT, Jaguar is also working on a more accessible EV SUV — the E‑PACE electric variant. This will cater to the premium SUV segment and is expected to launch in India by October 2025. It’s positioned just above the I‑PACE in terms of size but will be priced more competitively.

Reports suggest that the E‑PACE EV could be priced between ₹71 to ₹75 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s expected to offer decent range, a luxurious cabin, and connectivity features that appeal to younger urban audiences.

Jaguar’s Full EV Roadmap in India

By 2030, Jaguar plans to launch up to eight fully electric models in India. This includes new avatars of familiar models — like the XE, XJ, J‑PACE, and others — all reimagined with electric powertrains. These vehicles will cater to both the compact luxury and ultra-luxury markets.

  • The XE-EV is expected to be a compact electric sedan priced around ₹65–75 lakh.
  • The J‑PACE EV, a larger SUV rivaling Range Rover and BMW iX, may be priced around ₹1.4 crore.
  • And the iconic XJ-EV — once Jaguar’s flagship — will make a comeback as a fully electric limousine, again pushing beyond ₹1.4 crore.

What Makes Jaguar’s EV Ambition Unique?

Unlike many automakers who are converting petrol cars into electric ones, Jaguar is going all-in on its electric reboot. Its upcoming EVs are being built from the ground up as electric-first vehicles. The result is expected to be better performance, futuristic design, and sustainability at its core.

More importantly, Jaguar is also expected to start local assembly in India — possibly in Tamil Nadu — by 2026. This move will help reduce prices and make the cars more competitive in India’s price-sensitive luxury market.

Final Thoughts

Jaguar is not just dipping its toes into EVs — it’s diving in headfirst. The Type 00-based GT and E‑PACE EV will lead this charge, redefining Jaguar’s presence in India. While prices may feel steep for most, these cars aren’t made for the masses — they’re aimed at those who value legacy, innovation, and exclusivity.

As the Indian luxury EV space heats up with offerings from BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar's upcoming fleet might just set a new benchmark for what electric luxury truly means.
