Upcoming 2025 Yamaha Bikes in India

Yamaha has long been a trusted name in the Indian two-wheeler market, known for its stylish design, sporty performance, and reliable engineering. As we head into 2025, Yamaha is preparing to launch several new bikes in India, targeting both the premium commuter and performance segments. With rising competition and growing demand for feature-rich motorcycles, Yamaha’s 2025 lineup is expected to focus on performance, technology, and style.

Here’s a detailed look at the upcoming Yamaha bikes in India in 2025:

1. Yamaha R3 (BS6 Updated)

Expected Launch: Early 2025

Yamaha fans have been waiting eagerly for the return of the R3. The company has confirmed that a BS6 Phase 2 version of the Yamaha R3 is coming in 2025. This fully-faired bike will come with a 321cc parallel-twin engine, offering smooth power delivery and thrilling performance for city rides and weekend tours. Updated styling, LED lights, a digital display, and dual-channel ABS will be standard. Expect a price of around ₹4 lakh (ex-showroom).

2. Yamaha MT-03

Expected Launch: Early to Mid 2025

The naked version of the R3, the MT-03, will also enter India alongside or shortly after the R3. It shares the same engine but with an upright seating position and aggressive streetfighter styling. The MT-03 will appeal to riders who want performance without the committed stance of a sports bike. Yamaha might assemble it locally to price it competitively at around ₹3.8 lakh.

3. Yamaha R7

Expected Launch: Mid 2025

Yamaha is likely to bring its R7 middleweight supersport to India in 2025. The R7 has a 689cc parallel-twin engine (same as the MT-07), paired with sharp styling inspired by the R1. It’s built for track days and spirited rides, offering a balance between everyday usability and high-speed performance. With its aggressive looks and twin projector headlights, the R7 will target enthusiasts looking for a powerful alternative to the Kawasaki Ninja 650 or Aprilia RS 660. Expected price: ₹10 lakh+ (ex-showroom).

4. Yamaha XSR155

Expected Launch: Late 2025

Yamaha’s retro-modern bike, the XSR155, has already been a hit in countries like Indonesia and Thailand. Indian buyers have been waiting for this one, and 2025 could finally see its debut. Based on the R15 V4 platform, the XSR155 features a 155cc liquid-cooled engine with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation). Its neo-retro styling, round LED headlamp, and vintage-inspired fuel tank make it ideal for riders who want a classic look with modern tech. Expected price: ₹1.6–1.7 lakh.

5. Yamaha R15M or R15 V5 (Facelift)

Expected Launch: Late 2025

Yamaha is expected to refresh the R15 line-up with an R15 V5 or updated R15M, offering new graphics, minor styling tweaks, and possible tech upgrades. The current R15 V4 is already feature-packed with traction control, quickshifter, and a digital dash, so the update will likely be cosmetic. This bike continues to be a favorite among young Indian riders for its sporty design and sharp handling.

What’s New in Yamaha’s Strategy?

Yamaha is moving toward offering more premium, enthusiast-friendly models in India. While commuter bikes like the FZ and Ray ZR scooters will continue, Yamaha’s focus for 2025 seems to be on bringing global products to the Indian market—either through local assembly or CBU (completely built units).

They are also expected to improve dealer networks and customer experience, with dedicated Blue Square showrooms focused on the premium segment.

The year 2025 looks promising for Yamaha fans in India. Whether you love sport bikes, naked streetfighters, or retro-styled machines, there’s something coming for every type of rider. While pricing may place some models in the premium bracket, Yamaha’s legendary reliability and performance will continue to attract serious riders.

If you’re planning a new bike purchase next year, it might be worth the wait.
