In a major step towards greener mobility, TVS Motor Company has officially unveiled the TVS Jupiter CNG, India’s first factory-fitted CNG scooter. The launch took place at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, where the scooter received widespread attention for its fuel efficiency and eco-friendly performance.
Dual-Fuel Convenience
The Jupiter CNG is built on the Jupiter 125 platform and runs on both CNG and petrol. It is powered by a 124.8cc engine and comes equipped with a 1.4 kg CNG cylinder under the seat and a 2-litre petrol tank on the floorboard.
Together, this dual-fuel setup offers a claimed range of 226 km and delivers an impressive 84 km/kg mileage on CNG, making it one of the most economical scooters in the country.
Designed for the Indian Commuter
TVS has focused on balancing practicality and comfort. Although the under-seat space is taken up by the CNG cylinder, the scooter includes useful features like:
- USB charging port
- LED headlamp
- Digital-analog instrument cluster
- IntelliGO start-stop system
- Side-stand engine cut-off
These features are aimed at improving daily riding comfort and safety, especially in city traffic.

Performance Made for the City
The scooter produces 7.2 PS of power and 9.4 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 80 km/h. It is not built for high-speed performance but is well-suited for regular city commuting. Its lower running cost and environment-friendly nature make it an ideal choice for budget-conscious and eco-aware riders.
Cleaner and More Affordable Commutes
Using CNG helps reduce carbon emissions, which is important for controlling air pollution in Indian cities. It also lowers daily fuel expenses, which is a big advantage for middle-class families and delivery riders.
Expected Launch and Pricing
TVS is expected to launch the Jupiter CNG in the market by October 2025, with an estimated price between ₹95,000 and ₹1,00,000 (ex-showroom). This makes it an affordable option compared to many petrol-only scooters in the same segment.
The TVS Jupiter CNG is not just a new scooter—it represents a smart, clean, and practical shift in urban transportation. By becoming the first mainstream two-wheeler manufacturer to introduce a CNG scooter, TVS has set a strong example for sustainable innovation in India.
