Honda has officially pulled the wraps off the updated 2025 XL750 Transalp, an adventure touring motorcycle that blends power, tech, and versatility in a package ideal for India’s diverse terrains. With its Africa Twin-inspired styling, robust engine, and feature-loaded cockpit, the new Transalp is expected to hit Indian roads later this year—and it’s already creating buzz among enthusiasts.
A Design That Turns Heads
The 2025 Transalp borrows design cues from its elder sibling, the Africa Twin. It now sports dual LED projector headlights, a redesigned Durabio windscreen with a central duct for smoother airflow, and a muscular ADV silhouette. The styling is rugged yet refined, striking the right balance between urban appeal and off-road aggression—something Indian buyers love in premium adventure bikes.
Powerful Yet Practical
Under the tank, the Transalp houses a 755cc parallel-twin engine—the same as the CB750 Hornet. It delivers:
- 91 hp at 9,500 rpm
- 75 Nm torque at 7,250 rpm
- 6-speed gearbox with assist/slipper clutch
Thanks to a 270° crankshaft, the engine mimics a V-twin’s character, delivering smooth, responsive power. Whether you’re stuck in city traffic or cruising the Himalayas, this engine adapts effortlessly to Indian conditions.
Suspension Tuned for Indian Roads
The Transalp rides on a Showa 43 mm USD fork at the front with 200 mm travel and a Pro-Link monoshock at the rear offering 190 mm travel. Honda has tweaked the suspension in the 2025 model—softer in the front and firmer in the rear—for better comfort and stability over India’s notorious potholes and rough patches.
It rolls on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, ideal for both trail riding and long highway stints.
Feature-Rich Console for Modern Riders
Adventure riders in India increasingly expect tech-savvy machines, and the XL750 doesn’t disappoint. It features:
- 5-inch full-color TFT screen with optical bonding
- Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity
- 5 ride modes: Sport, Standard, Rain, Gravel, and User
- Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)
- Wheelie control, engine braking, switchable ABS
It even gets Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and self-canceling indicators—helpful in India’s unpredictable traffic.
Touring-Ready for Long Indian Rides
Fuel capacity stands at 16.9 litres, offering a real-world range of over 350 km—great for weekend getaways or Ladakh adventures. A comfortable saddle, upright riding posture, and optional low seat height (820 mm vs 850 mm standard) ensure it suits riders of different heights.
India Launch and Expected Pricing
While the 2023 version was launched in India via Honda’s premium BigWing outlets at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2025 model is expected to arrive by late 2025, possibly priced around ₹11.5–12 lakh due to the added tech and styling updates.
Expect it to compete with:
- Suzuki V-Strom 800DE
- Triumph Tiger 850 Sport
- KTM 890 Adventure (if launched)
With Honda’s trusted service network and growing BigWing presence, the Transalp could be a strong value offering in this segment.
The 2025 Honda XL750 Transalp feels tailor-made for Indian riders—rugged enough for Ladakh, comfortable enough for office commutes, and stylish enough to turn heads at every red light.
If you’re looking for a mid-size adventure bike that strikes the perfect balance between touring ability, daily usability, and modern tech, the new Transalp is a strong contender. Honda fans and adventure seekers alike should keep an eye on its official India launch.
