Triumph Street Triple 765: The Sharpest Naked In Triumph's India Line-up The Street Triple 765 is Triumph's answer to the question of how small a superbike can get while still feeling like one. Under that trellis-look frame sits a 765cc inline-three borrowed from Triumph's Moto2 racing programme, tuned here to put out 130 PS at 11,500 rpm and 80 Nm at 9,500 rpm. Those numbers alone tell you this is not a bike that likes to be ridden lazily. It wants revs, and it rewards you with a hard, linear pull all the way to the limiter and an exhaust note that has real character once the triple starts singing past 7,000 rpm. At 189 kg kerb weight, the Street Triple is light for the power on offer, and that shows the moment you tip it into a corner. The 826mm seat height puts you in a commanding, slightly forward-leaning stance, with a short 1402mm wheelbase that makes it flick from side to side with very little effort. Showa handles both ends, 41mm upside-down separate-function forks up front with 115mm of travel and a piggyback-reservoir monoshock at the rear offering 133.5mm, and the whole set-up on the RS is adjustable enough to let a keen rider dial in exactly how the bike behaves on a tight ghat road or a track day. Stopping power comes from a 310mm twin-disc front with dual-channel ABS, which is reassuring given how quickly this bike builds speed. In India, the range runs from the Street Triple R through to the RS and the flagship RX, priced from Rs 10.86 lakh to Rs 13.91 lakh ex-showroom. The R is the more accessible entry point with an analogue tachometer, while the RS and RX bring a digital instrument cluster and sharper cosmetic treatment, available in colours like Phantom Black and Pure White, Matt Baja Orange, Silver Ice and Granite, and Cosmic Yellow. The 15-litre tank and a claimed 19.2 kmpl mean you are not stopping every 150 km, but this was never built around frugality. The buyer here has usually already owned something quick, maybe a 400 or 650cc machine, and wants the next real step up without going to a litre-class bike that is wasted on Indian roads and traffic. It is a weekend bike as much as a daily one, best enjoyed on a clear highway stretch or a set of hill bends rather than bumper-to-bumper city riding, where the firm suspension and tall seat height can feel like a chore for shorter riders. Against rivals like the Kawasaki Z900, Yamaha MT-09, Ducati Monster and KTM 890 Duke, the Street Triple carves out its own space by being lighter and more track-focused than most of that company, with a chassis that feels more like a sportbike wearing naked clothing than a straightforward street brawler. Service support runs through Triumph's dealer network in the metros, and parts and running costs sit where you would expect for a premium import-assembled motorcycle, which is part of the calculation any buyer at this price point has already made peace with.
