Ex-showroom is not what you pay. Pick your state and trim to see the road tax, insurance and charges on top — the tax alone differs by more than a lakh between states on the same car.

₹

Pre-filled at about 3.5% of ex-showroom, which is typical for a first-year comprehensive policy. Your actual quote depends on cover, add-ons and the insurer — change it if you have a real quote.

One size up from the 50 SX, and built for a rider who has already outgrown it. The 65 SX is KTM's next step in its junior motocross line, priced at Rs 5.465 lakh in India and sold in a single variant finished in Orange. Like the 50 SX, this is a dirt-only competition bike with no road-going equipment, no lights, no mirrors, nothing that would let it near a public road, and it exists purely to put a young rider on a faster, heavier, more capable machine than the smallest KTM minicross bike offers. The step up is real. Where the 50 SX runs a 49.9cc two-stroke with an automatic clutch, the 65 SX gets a 64.9cc single-cylinder two-stroke making 11.35 PS at 11,500 rpm and 10.8 Nm at 7,500 rpm, over double the power of the smaller bike, and it drops the automatic gearbox for an actual 6-speed manual transmission with chain drive and kick-start only. That is a meaningful jump in what the rider needs to know how to do: clutch control, gear changes, the basics of racecraft, rather than just twisting a throttle. Kerb weight rises to 62kg, dry weight 53.5kg, and seat height goes up to 730mm, with wheel sizes stepping up to a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear on spoked, tube-type tyres. Suspension stays serious for a bike this size, a WP Xact 35mm upside-down fork with 215mm of travel and a WP Xact monoshock with 253.5mm of travel at the rear, numbers closer to what a full-size motocross bike offers than anything in the road-going minibike space. In practice, the 65 SX is the bike a young rider moves onto once they have outgrown a 50 SX and are racing competitively rather than just learning. It sits alongside other recognised junior-motocross machines from European and Japanese dirt-bike makers as one of the standard stepping stones in the sport, rather than against any road-focused rival; there is no sensible comparison to be made with a commuter or adventure motorcycle here. Buyers are almost always already going through the sport, usually via a local motocross track or racing academy, and the KTM dealer network's familiarity with the SX range is part of what keeps parts and racing support available. As with the 50 SX, this description is kept to what the specification sheet and dealer listings actually support, rather than padded with claims that cannot be verified.
