Volkswagen Tayron: 5 and 7-seater luxury SUV
The Volkswagen Tayron marks the brand's return to the three-row premium SUV space in India. It is built on the MQB EVO platform shared with the Tiguan R-Line but stretches the wheelbase to 2,789 mm, which is what makes room for a third row in the R-Line and a huge 885-litre boot in the five-seat Life.
Two variants, one engine
Both the Tayron Life (5 seats) and the Tayron R-Line (7 seats) use the 2.0-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine producing 204 PS between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm and 320 Nm from 1,500 to 4,400 rpm. Power goes to all four wheels through a 7-speed DSG and Volkswagen's 4MOTION intelligent all-wheel drive, with six drive profiles: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Individual, Offroad and Snow.
