Volkswagen Golf GTI: the original hot hatch

Volkswagen brings the eighth-generation Golf GTI to India as a fully built import in one fully loaded specification. It is the fastest Volkswagen sold here and won the ICOTY 2026 Premium Car of the Year award.

Performance

The 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol develops 265 PS (195 kW) between 5,250 and 6,500 rpm and 370 Nm from 1,600 to 4,500 rpm. A 7-speed DSG with paddle shifters sends power to the front wheels through an XDS electronic differential lock. 0-100 km/h takes 5.9 seconds and top speed is 267 km/h. Progressive steering and four drive profiles (Eco, Normal, Sport, Individual) with an electronic engine sound complete the package. ARAI mileage is 16.34 km/l.
