The Carens has a decent unladen ground clearance, but when fully loaded with 7 adults and luggage, the soft rear suspension tends to compress significantly. You have to be cautious over large, sharp speed breakers to avoid bottoming out.
The lower-to-mid trims (like Premium and Prestige) offer tremendous value because Kia provides 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and rear parking sensors as standard safety features across the lineup. However, if you want creature comforts like ventilated seats, a sunroof, or the bigger infotainment screen, you will need to look at higher trims (Prestige Plus or Luxury Plus).

Kia markets it as a "Recreational Vehicle (RV)". In practice, it has the boxy, practical space management and sliding second-row rows of an MPV, combined with the ground clearance, front styling, and aggressive cladding of an SUV.
Very effective. Unlike cars that just place blower vents on the floor, the Carens features roof-mounted, diffused AC vents for both the second and third rows, with a dedicated blower speed control knob. This cools down the entire cabin quickly even during peak summer months.
