Prices, specifications and the launch date are expected figures based on the latest information and may change when the car is launched.
Mahindra has not announced a launch date for the Thar.e, and nothing in current reporting points to one being imminent.
The most recent hard data point is from Rushlane, which reported on 4 October 2026 that a heavily camouflaged Thar.e test mule had been spotted for the first time, showing concept-inspired styling cues such as a distinct grille and squared headlights on what appeared to be a five-door body, a notable departure from the three-door ICE Thar (the five-door body on the current Thar lineup belongs to the separately badged Thar Roxx). A car only just spotted testing in early October is not normally six weeks from a retail launch, and no manufacturer statement, teaser campaign, booking announcement or dealership-readiness news has surfaced since to suggest otherwise.
The aggregator listings carry "November 2026" as an expected launch, but on inspection this reads as an unchanged, generic placeholder rather than fresh reporting. One such listing, current as of 31 October 2026, still shows only the vague "Expected Launch: November 2026" with no supporting detail, and the accompanying Rs 25 lakh price is explicitly marked tentative and subject to change on the same listings. No pricing announcement or dealer-communicated figure exists anywhere.
Specification reporting in the aggregator listings describes the Thar.e as based on a Mahindra-customised version of the INGLO platform's "P1" underpinnings, with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive as standard, but no source gives a battery size in kWh, a range figure, or motor power output. Those numbers simply have not been disclosed.
One practical warning for anyone researching this car: recent India car news about "Thar" in late 2026 has mostly concerned the unrelated petrol and diesel Thar facelift, sometimes called the "Thar OG," which launched in September 2026 from around Rs 10.32 lakh. That is a different, already-on-sale vehicle, and it is easy to mistake coverage of it for news about the electric Thar.e. As things stand, the Thar.e remains a confirmed programme with real prototypes on the road, but no confirmed date, price or specification.
Mahindra Thar.e Specifications
The Mahindra Thar.e is the fully electric version of the Thar, expected in India around the middle of November 2026 at an estimated Rs 25 lakh ex-showroom. It keeps the Thar's boxy off-road silhouette on a dedicated electric platform, with an automatic drivetrain. Mahindra has not published final prices, range figures or a variant list, so everything here is an expectation rather than a confirmed specification.
